Planning a private event in Fort Lauderdale comes down to four decisions: how many people you are inviting, what you are celebrating, how you want everyone to eat, and which space actually fits the group. Get those four right and the rest of the planning gets a lot easier.

At Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant, our Fort Lauderdale location hosts private events for 25 to 150 guests across three distinct spaces, from a closed private dining room to a full restaurant buyout. Below is how we walk hosts through the decisions, in the order they actually matter. If you already know your date and headcount, you can skip ahead and send us a private event inquiry.

Start With What the Event Actually Needs

A 40th birthday dinner and a company holiday party are not the same booking, even at the same guest count. Before you compare menus or think about decorations, decide what you want the room to feel like.

A birthday usually wants noise, sharing, and a long table. An anniversary dinner tends to be quieter and conversation-driven. A retirement party or family reunion often means three generations at the same tables, with speeches. A corporate celebration needs a room where coworkers can actually talk to each other away from the office.

Answer these before you inquire anywhere:

  •   How many guests do you realistically expect, and what is your range?
  •   Is the gathering social, professional, or both?
  •   Do you want guests sharing platters or eating individually plated meals?
  •   Are there speeches, toasts, gifts, or a presentation that needs time built in?
  •   Where are guests coming from, and will any need a hotel nearby?

Choose an Event Space in Fort Lauderdale With Your Guest List in Mind

Location does more work than most hosts expect. When half your guests are driving in from Downtown and the other half are already staying near the beach, a central address saves you from losing people to traffic and parking.

We are at 1135 N Federal Hwy, less than 10 minutes from Fort Lauderdale Beach, Las Olas Boulevard, and Downtown Fort Lauderdale. For out-of-town guests already spending the day around Las Olas or the beach, dinner with us is a short drive, not a separate expedition.

Rather than booking the first event space that has your date open, think about the whole day. Where are guests coming from, what happens before and after, and how easy is it for someone unfamiliar with the city to find the door?

Match Your Guest Count to the Right Space

Guest count is the first thing we ask, because it determines everything else. Our Fort Lauderdale location has three options:

Private Dining Room, up to 25 guests

A closed room with dedicated service. This is the right fit for milestone birthdays, anniversary dinners, small rehearsal dinners, and business dinners where the conversation needs to stay in the room.

Large Dining Room, up to 65 guests

Our larger space for mid-sized groups, with full access to our menu and cocktail list. This is where most family reunions, graduation parties, showers, and department celebrations land.

Exclusive Venue Hire, up to 150 guests

A full restaurant buyout. You get the entire space, flexible layouts, and no other diners. This is the option for company holiday parties, large celebrations, and events where you want the run of the place.

You do not need every RSVP confirmed before you reach out. A realistic range is enough for us to tell you which space fits and what it will cost per person. We also recommend scheduling a site visit before you book, so you can walk the room with our Events Manager instead of judging it from photos.

Corporate Events and Team Dinners in Fort Lauderdale

Corporate bookings have different pressure points than social ones. You are usually working against a budget you have to justify, a headcount that keeps moving, and a schedule that has to accommodate a presentation or an awards moment.

A few things that make corporate events easier here: per-person pricing means your budget math is straightforward, the private dining room keeps client dinners and board dinners genuinely private, and a full buyout gives you the whole restaurant for a holiday party without competing with a Friday dinner rush.

If your event includes a speaker or a presentation, tell us in your inquiry. Room layout and service pacing both change when the meal has to pause for someone at a microphone.

Build the Menu Around How You Want Guests to Eat

The format you choose sets the pace of the entire evening. We offer curated event menus in five formats, customizable to your budget and preferences:

  •   Family-style dining
  •   Buffet-style service
  •   Plated meals
  •   Passed hors d’oeuvres
  •   Cocktail-style receptions

Family-style is our most requested format for a reason. Platters of lechon asado, ropa vieja, and vaca frita going down the middle of the table with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains does more for a room than any centerpiece. It works especially well for birthdays, reunions, and rehearsal dinners.

Plated meals suit events with a schedule. If there are speeches, an awards presentation, or a toast at a specific time, plated service keeps the evening on track.

Passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktail-style receptions are the move when mingling matters more than sitting. Croquetas de jamon and empanadas circulating with our cocktails let a room of 60 people actually talk to each other.

Our Events Manager will walk you through the specific dishes available for your format and headcount when you plan the menu.

Timing and What Actually Holds Your Date

Have a preferred date and at least one alternative before you inquire. Saturdays and the December holiday stretch book out first.

Here is how the reservation works at Padrino’s, so there are no surprises. There is no separate deposit. The reservation fee is already included in the per-person pricing, and that pricing can vary depending on location, date, and time. To finalize the reservation, we need a signed agreement and a credit card authorization form. All charges are paid on the day of the event.

Lock in your guest count, dining format, and timing as early as you reasonably can. If something changes, tell us as soon as you know rather than assuming the original plan can absorb it.

Decorations: What You Can Bring and What You Cannot

Decor is not included, but you are welcome to bring your own. That flexibility is one of the reasons hosts choose us over venues that lock you into a house package.

The rules exist to protect the space and keep guests safe:

  •   Confetti is not permitted
  •   Decorations cannot be pinned, glued, or hung on the walls
  •   Nothing may block hallways or walkways
  •   Balloons are welcome, but they must be inflated and deflated off-site

Confirm your plans with us before you buy anything. In practice, a few purposeful touches such as photos, table decorations, and celebration-specific details do more than an elaborate setup.

A Short Checklist Before You Inquire

  •   Guest count, or a realistic range
  •   Preferred date plus one alternative
  •   Event start time and expected end time
  •   Which space fits your group (25, 65, or full buyout)
  •   Menu format
  •   Dietary needs in the group
  •   Speeches, presentations, or timed moments
  •   Decoration plans
