Planning a rehearsal dinner in Fort Lauderdale comes down to three things: a venue that fits your guest list, a menu both families can enjoy, and booking details settled well before the wedding weekend. At Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant, our Fort Lauderdale private dining spaces host rehearsal dinners for 25 to 150 guests, with family-style or plated Cuban menus and handcrafted cocktails.

As a third-generation, family-owned Cuban restaurant, we believe sharing a meal is one of the best ways to bring two families together. That is exactly what a rehearsal dinner is for.

Choosing a Rehearsal Dinner Venue in Fort Lauderdale

A rehearsal dinner should give your closest friends and family time together without adding complications to the wedding schedule. Start with your guest count and how much privacy you want, then match it to a space. Our Fort Lauderdale location has three options:

  • Private Dining Room, up to 25 guests. A closed room with dedicated service, right for a dinner centered on family introductions and personal toasts.
  • Large Dining Room, up to 60 guests. Room for extended family and the full wedding party, with access to our full menu and bar.
  • Exclusive Venue Hire, up to 150 guests. A full restaurant buyout with flexible layouts for a celebration that includes out-of-town guests.

Share your expected headcount in your inquiry and we will recommend the space and layout that fits.

Location and Timing Around Your Wedding Schedule

We are at 1135 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, less than 10 minutes from Las Olas Boulevard, Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Lauderdale Beach. That makes us an easy stop for wedding parties staying in central Fort Lauderdale or near the beach.

Set your dinner start time around when the rehearsal is expected to finish, with enough cushion for the drive, greetings, and seating. Give guests the address and a clear start time. We open at 11:30 AM Tuesday through Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday, and we are closed on Mondays.

Plan a Cuban Menu Both Families Will Enjoy

Rehearsal dinners bring together people meeting for the first time, so dishes that invite sharing set the tone. From our Fort Lauderdale menu, these are the ones we would point a couple toward:

  • To start: croquetas de jamon, picadillo empanadas with mango chutney, and mariquitas with black bean salsa, on the table while guests arrive and introductions happen.
  • Lechon asado: pork slow roasted for eight hours with citrus mojo, topped with grilled onions, served with moros and yuca.
  • Ropa vieja: shredded beef slow cooked with green peppers and onions in a light tomato-based sauce.
  • Churrasco: char-grilled skirt steak with our homemade chimichurri.
  • La Paella: scallops, shrimp, mussels, grouper, chicken, and chorizo over flavorful yellow rice.
  • To finish: Tres Leches, our homemade sponge cake soaked in three milks, or flan with soft caramel.

Final selections are set with our Events Manager based on your format and headcount. Ask guests about dietary requirements early so we can plan around them. A few well-chosen dishes usually serve a group better than a long list.

Family-Style or Plated: Which Fits Your Rehearsal Dinner?

Family-style dining puts shared platters on the table, with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains passed around. It suits couples who want a relaxed evening where the conversation leads.

Plated meals work better when the evening has a schedule: speeches, a slideshow, or a defined end time so everyone rests before the ceremony. Each guest receives an individual meal, which keeps dinner moving around the planned moments.

Both work for a rehearsal dinner. The right one depends on your guest count, your menu, and how you want the night to unfold.

Cocktails and Time for Toasts

Our Fort Lauderdale bar features the Classic Mojito, Passion Mojito, Guava’rita, and Cuban Espresso Martini, plus sangria by the glass or carafe and zero-proof cocktails such as Romero Azul and Piña Fresca for guests who are not drinking.

A simple sequence works well: arrivals and drinks, dinner, then toasts. If several family members want to speak, set the order beforehand and tell our Events Manager so the courses are timed around it.

How to Book Your Rehearsal Dinner

Step 1: Submit your inquiry

Use our Fort Lauderdale private dining inquiry with your preferred date, time, and estimated guest count. You do not need final RSVPs; a realistic estimate is enough to match you to a space.

Step 2: Visit the space

We recommend a site visit before booking. Walk through the room with our Events Manager, ask about layout and decorations, and settle on family-style or plated.

Step 3: Confirm your reservation

Private event pricing is per person and varies by date and time. There is no separate deposit; the reservation fee is included in the per-person price. A signed agreement and credit card authorization form finalize the booking, and charges are paid on the day of the event.

Can You Decorate the Space?

Yes. Decorations are not included, but you are welcome to bring your own: family photos, table decor, a welcome sign. A few rules keep the space safe: no confetti, nothing pinned, glued, or hung on the walls, hallways and walkways kept clear, and balloons inflated and deflated off-site.

Hosting the Rehearsal Dinner Somewhere Else?

If you have already booked another location, our Fort Lauderdale catering offers trays and platters for pickup or delivery. Catering is drop-off style: we bring the food, and the host handles tables, the serving area, and setup. The catering menu is separate from the restaurant menu.
